The secondary school for music is one of the most successful institutions for promoting young musicians and preparing students for a professional music course of study in Europe. At the moment 150 pupils are being taught. The artistic instructions are given by staff members of the Hanns Eisler Academy of music and those of the Berlin University of Arts.
